A Message From Byron Reed |
|
My father in law, Jan Kronk passed away yesterday after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a longtime important member of my crew and was known as our “team machinist.” Jan was a man that took pride in everything he did and his skill in fabrication and machining took our team to another level. Jan was never happier than riding down the road in the truck talking to the crew Kurt, Romey, Dick, and Sam. A perfect night for him at the race track included a good hot dog, no breakdowns, and a good run. Some of my best memories were the night that I won at Wayne County Speedweek and the only crew were my Mom and Dad and Jan. Our joy in victory lane while being covered in Wayne County dust is something I will never forget. Another good memory is washing the car on a sunny Saturday morning and talking about a win the previous night. We will miss him. Byron Reed
