Born: March 15, 1973 Family: Wife (Kelly), Two sons (Sam & Lucas) Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo Occupation: Family Die Casting Business - Reebar Diecasting in Waterville, OH CAREER HIGHLIGHTS• Began racing in 1989 at age 16 • 50+ feature wins including 7 w/ the All-Stars and 1 w/ USAC. Most memoriable win was "my first All Star win at Kokomo. It was a really tight race between me, Frank Kerr, Kelly Kinser, and Dean Jacobs. There was a strong field of cars there that night." 2009: By the standards of Byron Reed and B&S Racing, the 2009 season wasn't up to par for one of their better performances. In all the team collected 1 win, 10 Top 5s and 24 Top-10 finishes. These stats earned the team a 2nd place finish in the inaugural Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Championship Series points, as well as, second place finishes at both Attica and Fremont in their track championships. Reed earned his only feature win of 2009 at Fremont Speedway on the final night of points racing.
2008: Byron Reed and the B&S Racing team proved to be the team to beat yet again in Northern Ohio by sweeping the 2008 track championships yet again at both Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. Byron only collected one feature win at Attice enroute to his title, but was also the only driver to compete in every 410 sprint car feature event including sanctioned events. Reed earned 4 feature wins at Fremont Speedway, which helped him earn back-to-back track championships at "The Track That Action Built" for the first time in his career. 2007: Byron Reed collected track championship titles at both Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway for the 3rd time in his racing career. Reed collected 4 victories at Attica enroute to 3-straight championships. The B&S Racing entry captured the checkered flag two checkered flags. During the summer weekends the black number five was always in the hunt for victory including one weekend sweep of Attica and Fremont. Byron also collected an 11th place finish against the World of Outlaws. 2006: Last season included an opening night win at Attica Raceway Park (ARP), where he would lead the entire year in points with the help of 7 Top 5 finishes and 3 Top 10s. His 3rd title at ARP earned him back-to-back Track Championships. B&S Racing also captured a victory at Fremont Speedway. During sanctioned events Byron claimed a National Sprint Tour Dash victory at Attica helping him earn a 3rd place finish in the series first trip to Ohio. Reed collected 2 Top 5s during ASCoC Ohio Speedweek. 2005: Byron dominated the early portion of the Attica's schedule enroute to winning 4 Features helping him collect his second Track Championship Byron collected one feature win at the Fremont Speedway during the Budweiser/Bud Light 50's. Throughout the season Reed collected 8 Heat wins while posting fastest time 4 times at Fremont. Finished 4th in the ASCoC Ohio Speedweek points. 2004: Reed finished second to Mark Keegan in 410 Points at Attica. He was poised to make a run at the Fremont Track Championship, but decided to attend an All Star Event at KC Raceway making it impossible to recover in the points standings.
2003: Byron dominated the northwest Ohio region enroute to winning the 2003 Track Championship at both "The Track That Action Built" and ARP. Reed competed in 17 of the 18 410 Sprint Car A-mains at Fremont and only finished out of the top ten once. Byron picked up two feature wins at Fremont and several at Attica. Byron also posted a Top 5 finish in the ASCoC Ohio Speedweek points. 2002: Byron wins at Wayne County Speedway during ASCoC Ohio Speedweek. Consistency helped Byron finish in second place only 7 points behind Speedweek Points Winner Chad Kemenah. 2001: During Ohio Speedweek, Byron posted two A-Main wins (Portsmouth and Attica) enroute to finishing fourth in points. Byron also won another ASCoC A-Main during the year. 2000: Byron runs in his first Saturday night A-Main at the biggest show on dirt The Knoxville Nationals. 1999: Byron won his first ASCoC A-Main at Kokomo Speedway in Cicero, IN. He went on to score another win at KC Raceway during "The Night The Stars Come Out." 1995: Won his first United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint Feature at Earl's place Eldora Speedway by beating out Jack Hewitt. Not many drivers can claim they beat Jack on the cushion of the High Banks of Eldora. 1994: Ran all but two races on the All Star Circuit of Champions Schedule and finished in the Top 5 in series points. 1993: Posted a 7th place finish at Eldora Speedway during The Historical Big One.
